The first stage in the muslam empire where the califes. The first four caliphs where:

Abu Bakr 

Umar

Uthman

Ali

They are called the Rightly Guided Caliphs of the Rashidun dynasty. The next dynasty was the Umayyad dynasty. The Umayyad dynasty was responsible for making it the 5th largest dynasty in the world.

The next dynasty was called the Abbasid dynasty. The capital is in Baghdad. Durring this time the muslim poupulation whent from 40% to neerly universal. The dynasty lasted 500 years.

The Abbasid dynasty slowly declined because of the laisenes and neglect of the rulers.
