Otto I

In 936 Otto I Became Duke of Saxony and king of Germany. He quickly United the other dukes and made them his vassals this caused War to break out. though his life was threatened he still was a powerful King and ended the war. In 951 he figure out a way to increase the size of his Empire. The queen of Italy was captured by some kidnappers, so he set out to free her. when he freed her he married her and declared himself king of Italy. Now he was King of Germany, Saxony, and Italy. 

In 955 Otto was invaded by the Magyars. The magyars had invaded Germany seeking to conquer it. Otto then completely demolish them. But in the battle three of his most important family members died including his son that was the heir to the throne. He’s made his two-year-old son the heir to the throne. 

Pope John got in trouble and called on Otto to help him. Otto said he would if the pope would crown him Holy Roman Emperor. So he helped crush the Rebellion on the Pope. The pope then crowned him Holy Roman Emperor and his wife Holy Roman Emperores. from that point on the Holy Roman Emperor was not just a name it was an actual Empire first ruled by Otto I. It lasted for nine hundred years all the way up to Napoleon in 1806. When Otto I was King he made Germany, Italy, and Saxony he made them a better country. He made many improvements to his land, But he was also a very selfish King and many of the people did not like him including his own brother who started a rebellion against him but he was quickly killed.
