The setting of The Knight of the white cross takes place and the island of Rhodes. Gervase is a knight of the order of St. John, and among the slaves of the knights galleys, there is a rumor of escape plan. Gervase disguises himself as a slave. The other slaves, thinking he is a slave tell Gervase the plan. He quickly goes to The Grandmaster of the Order of St John and tells him to plan. The plan then is stopped. A pirate ship latter takes over Gervase ship and takes Gervase as a slave. The Pirates were Turkish Pirates so they took him to be a slave at Tripoli. While he is there he hears of another plan for the Muslims and the Turks to besiege the city of Rhodes. He escapes and sails back to Rhodes on a small boat. When he gets there there’s an attack on the city immediately. The Turks are eventually defeated in a sent back to Turkey.
