Canute was born in 995 AD in Denmark. His grandfather, Harald Bluetooth was the king of Denmark and his grandfather Mieszko I was the King of Poland. His brother later became king. At his highest peak, Canute was ruler of Denmark, England, Norway, and parts of Sweden.
Canute set out to England with ships full of soldiers. He fought a 14 month battle with Edmond ironside. At last he conquered England and makes a treaty with Endmond. Edmond then died 3 weeks later, leaving the whole kingdom to Canute. Canute then spends the next year executing all who might be a threat to him. He takes a fleet with 30 ships and sails to Norway. The King of Norway can do nothing to stop him and surrenders the kingdom to Canute. The king was then invited to the coronation of Conrad II to Holy Roman Emperor. He also went there to repent of his sins.
Cnut died on 12 November 1035. In Denmark he was succeeded by Harthacnut as Cnut III.
