A theme that occurs very frequently is greed and its consequences. Jim is a boy who lives in an inn and helps his mother run it. One day a drunken pirate comes. He gives Jim a treasure map.The pirate then died of a heart attack the next day because of drinking too much rum. A blind pirate comes with some followers to steal the dead man’s money but its gone. The followers of the blind man then kill him because he said there would be money.
Jim set out with some friends to find the treasure. They then appoint a seaman who is secretly a pirate to pick out other crew members. The pirate picks other pirates for the crew. The pirates have a crazy want for gold and will do anything to get it. The pirates are so greedy they mutinied the ship and forced Jim’s friends out. The pirates shoot the ships cannons randomly to try to kill Jim’s friends. The friends seek shelter in an abandoned fort. The pirates then besiege the fort and the friends shoot most of them. The pirates find the treasure but they are ambushed by the friends and killed. They then sail back home. As you can see greed can result in very bad consequences.
