A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur’s Court book report

The book A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur’s Court is all one big juxtaposition and a constant satire of modern government. The story starts out when a man from the 19th century was sent back in time to the time of King Arthur. Hank (that was the man’s name) was very confused. He looked around and saw forests, a castle, and a knight on a horse running at him! The knight takes Hank prisoner and took him to the jail. The jail was a very dark and musty place. Hank was to be burned on the stake but he had a plan. The next day he was being tied to the stake but he proclaimed to be a magician! He said that if he was not untied and 2nd in command to the king he would blacken the skies. But because he was from the future he knew there was going to be a total eclipse. So the sky started darkening. The people were scared because it was as dark as midnight. The birds stopped chirping and the crickets started. So the king let him free and made him second in command of England. The people of england wore very different clothes than Hank who wore a suit and a tie. This is one example of juxtaposition. The room he was given was made of wood and had a candle chandelier. The room had an old mood to it. England at the time of King Arthur was mostly woods/forests, towns, fields, and the occasional hut.
