The Romans

The Romans had many inventions. One was the Road. The Romans had roads that were made out of stones. They led to different cities and allowed the soldiers to quickly march to other cities. They also made the first form of concrete. Another was their military system. The military was called a Legion and inside the Legion was the century with 100 soldiers. There was also a Centurion, an absolute leader of the Century, that can tell the soldiers to do anything. That is why the Romans were able to win so many battles. The Centurion made the army a sophisticated army instead of everybody fighting however they wanted to and being easily killed. The Romans took over a lot of the middle east including Greece, Israel, and Egypt. The reasons the Roman Empire fell was that they made Christianity the official religion and the stopped constantly training for battle and became more peaceful. The Huns then overtook the Roman Empire. The Huns were nomadic warriors who terrorized much of Europe and the Roman Empire in the 4th and 5th centuries A.D. They were impressive horsemen best known for their astounding military achievements. As they plundered their way across the European continent, the Huns acquired a reputation for being ruthless, indomitable savages.A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthur’s Court book report
